I started building websites for friends and family in the late 90’s while attending undergraduate at Virginia Tech (VT), USA. Since my youthful obsession of dragging my original Nintendo Entertainment System everywhere I went, I have embraced my fascination with innovation. In 2005, I completed a Master’s Degree from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, with a focus on IT Security and Project Management.
As I continued to navigate my career ambitions, I worked in large corporations for over a decade in a variety of IT roles (project management, system analysis, business analysis, and support). In 2012, I decided to embrace my inner environmentalist and went to school for an MBA in Sustainable Systems, where I focused on working with small businesses and the triple bottom line.
After years of following the traditional path, my girlfriend, dog, and I decided to go on a two-year cycle journey through Europe and South America. As we traveled, I established our blog (https://longhaultrekkers.com) and became familiar with WordPress and the surrounding technologies. I’ve turned my years of technology experience into freelance web development and small business consulting.
In 2020, I created a new Digital Marketing organization called Colibrily.com that expands my digital offerings and support. In addition, I launched my first niche site related to Coffee at BigCupofCoffee.com.
I currently specialize in:
- WordPress Design and Custom Development
- User Interface Design
- Site performance and Google Analytics
- Marketing and SEO
- Small Business Consulting
